Special Event Completed

 We had a very special event on September 25, 2004, in that we celebrated life, especially the unborn. Father Mitch Pacwa and Father Frank Pavone spoke about the awesome power and grace that is displayed when we reach out and speak for the unwanted, unborn child in the womb of his/her mother. Mother Teresa told us that it is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish. We read in proverbs 24:11, Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die. President Abraham Lincoln stated over 140 years ago “It behooves us to then humble ourselves before our mighty God, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness’. And that is the core of Culture of Life Family Service; it reaches out to the lost, the helpless, and the unborn. The most dangerous place in America is an unborn child in the unwanted womb of his/her mother.

Our society needs to be reminded of the truths of our blessed Lord. We are told in Isaiah that even if a mother forgets her child, God won’t. Jesus tells the little children come to him, why,  simply because He loves them. Mother Teresa tells us that any nation that destroys its own children begins the slide on the slippery slope of self destruction. We did more than celebrate, sing songs and eat a festive meal; we rededicated ourselves to speak out for the nameless and the helpless, to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon us with his Power and let us be witnesses to the healing presence of God in our words and action. I look forward to meeting all those that want to be part of our spiritual efforts in the Culture of Life Family Service.
